Food was phenomenal! From service to view, everything was perfect. I know reviews talk about a long wait but it was nice waiting with a drink by the water. I definitely recommended these drinks: Aperol Sprits frozen and the bloody Mary. For for food: the hot lobster roll, blackened chicken tacos, fried fish tacos, the burrito, and the shrimp and fries.

Went here with a big group of ladies and it was a lovely lunch experience. Lobster Loves Lobster. Little cup of bisque and a little roll with house made chips. Delicious. Excellent service.

We were on a short tour of the CT shoreline to revisit the many places we have been to many times over the years. We stopped in Stonington to see the sights and have lunch at Breakwater. It is a great casual restaurant built on a pier out in the bay. Seating inside and out but when weather is nice like today, outside is the best.We had fish & chips and fish tacos. Both were excellent. Add a beer and it was perfect!Views of the water and boats are really spectacular.

I love Breakwater. Outside seating with water views. The best bloody marys anywhere! Wonderful food. Friendly staff.

The deck is so nice and the view is incredible. It’s one of those places where you almost don’t even care if the food is just mediocre, luckily for us it was good :)Our server was super sweet and added to an already great experience.

The lobster bisque was spectacular! The fish and chips were so fresh it was as though the fish jumped out of the water and got battered and fried immediately! So good and the atmosphere is great too. You can sit outside and look out at the water. I got my order to go and it was seamless. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I’ll be back!

The views were awesome here. We ate out on the deck for lunch. The wait staff was super quick and friendly. The food and drinks were A+. My wife got the lobster salad BLT and it may have been one of the best bites of food I’ve ever had. Will be back!

A Perfect experience for my birthday lunch with special friends. Weather was gorgeous and we requested a certain table we've had before. The service was excellent! I have food allergies and sometimes end up with tasteless meals but not here!!! It was positively wonderful! A special shout-out to Anna for finding me a safe dessert option and to our awesome waitress, and if course the chef!!! We'll definitely be back again.

Went for sister-in-laws birthday,cute little place tucked in back of two buildings,hard to miss if ur not looking for it. Sits behind active peir. We sat outside at sunset, it was Excellent! Food was excellent. drinks where awsome. Service is great there sea food is so fresh. I definitely recommend the Firecracker shrimp!! They are soooo goood!!

The atmosphere is perfect right on the water with a cool breeze watching the boats come and go. You can also get a drink from the bar while you wait for your table I recommend the blueberry gin and tonic. Food was delicious as always and the wait staff was friendly and attentive.

We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday evening. We made reservations which meant we were seated inside (outside is walk up only and had a long wait). We arrived on time after walking down from church (parking is hard) and were told by the hostess it would be about 20 minutes. No big deal as we went to order drinks at the bar. Of course, we got paged within five minutes which caused some confusion and the bar server said to cancel the order and reorder at the table. That was fine too. Diane our server was friendly and engaged our table as she recognized some of us from town. The burrito, blue fin tuna special and mahi stack were excellent. The fish and chips was a big piece of fish and was good. Unfortunately, the special fried clam bellies were disappointing- more strip than belly. I didn’t say anything as I didn’t want to put a damper on the evening. I expected more, especially since it was a special. The drinks were enjoyed ($15 each is a little steep). All in all, we had a great time. Enjoy the atmosphere, the company and the food without worrying about the small things.

Food is pretty good - definitely compared to most other restaurants around here. Same for service. Go here for the view and the atmosphere - perfect place to have a drink, some oysters, and watch the sunset.

Breakwater has a great menu both food and drink wise including a mocktail menu. Our server Janessa was very friendly and made us feel at home. The atmosphere is great as well, dessert was amazing. They have a small parking lot so we were not able to find a spot there. There was no wait for a table inside but an hour and 45 minute wait to sit outside. The inside seating is still very nice and gets you that beach vibe. My one problem is that the bathroom was not very clean

The Service was GREAT, the food was amazing and I made a reservation and asked to sit outside near water, I think I had the best seat in the house. I will drive from Glastonbury, CT to eat here as much as possible.

Staff was very nice, lobster bisque was excellent. Of course it’s a bit pricy, but that’s understandable given that it’s right on the water. Gets very crowded, would recommend making a reservation.
